The loop around Jetřichovice takes in a series of rock viewpoints — Vilemínina stěna, Mariina vyhlídka and Rudolfův kámen. An ideal route for a full day of hiking.
Three viewpoints you have to see
The Jetřichovice Rocks offer a loop that links three legendary viewpoints — Vilemínina stěna, Mariina vyhlídka and Rudolfův kámen. Each has a character of its own. Vilemínina stěna impresses with the breadth of its panorama, Mariina vyhlídka on a metal platform above the drop takes your breath away with its height, and Rudolfův kámen offers an intimate view framed by rock towers. Together they make one of the most complete experiences Bohemian Switzerland has to offer. This loop is an absolute classic of the region and something no visitor should miss.
Adventure on rock steps and ladders
What sets the Jetřichovice loop apart from ordinary hiking are the metal ladders, narrow rock passages and steps cut into the sandstone. For children it is pure paradise — every stretch brings a new adventure and the feeling of being an explorer in an unknown world. Adults appreciate the physical challenge as well as the unusual perspectives you gain climbing the rock walls. The route is safe and waymarked, yet still exciting — an ideal combination.
The loop step by step
The whole loop measures roughly 10 kilometres and at an easy pace you will manage it in 3 to 4 hours. We recommend starting at the church in Jetřichovice and heading along the blue waymarks towards Mariina vyhlídka. From there continue to Vilemínina stěna and return to Jetřichovice via Rudolfův kámen. This version spreads the climbing evenly and saves the finest views for the end, when you are already well warmed up.
When to go and what to bring
The loop is at its most beautiful in autumn, when the broadleaf woods blaze with colour and the air is clear. In summer we recommend setting off early in the morning — you will avoid both the heat and the crowds. Bring plenty of water and a snack; there is nowhere to buy refreshments along the route. Sturdy shoes are a must because of the rock steps and uneven ground. In Jetřichovice you will find several restaurants and pubs where you can reward yourself after the walk with lunch and a local beer. Parking in the village is free, but in high season the spaces fill quickly — it is better to arrive before half past eight.
