Bohemian Switzerland is a paradise for walkers. Hundreds of kilometres of marked trails lead you through rock towns and deep valleys and open up unforgettable views.
Hiking trails nearby
From Lipnice you can walk to most of the iconic places in Bohemian Switzerland. Among the most popular are the loop past Pravčická brána (Pravčice Gate) and Mezní Louka, the climb up Růžovský vrch and the walk along the Gabriela trail. The marked trails are well kept and most of them suit less experienced walkers too. The terrain is broken, but the climb rarely exceeds 300 metres.
Ideas for multi-day routes
If you have several days, we recommend walking the whole of Bohemian Switzerland National Park from Hřensko through Jetřichovice to Chřibská. The route measures roughly 40 km and passes all the key places — rock gates, viewpoints and romantic valleys. Along the way you will find refreshments and places to stay in the mountain huts.
When to go
Hiking in Bohemian Switzerland is great all year round. In spring the undergrowth flowers and the forests smell of resin, in summer the shaded canyons bring relief from the heat, autumn brings spectacular leaf colours and winter offers snow-covered rock formations in complete quiet. In the main season (July–August) expect more walkers on the best-known trails.
