In winter Bohemian Switzerland turns into a snow-covered kingdom. Cross-country trails follow forest tracks and children will enjoy sledging on the nearby hills.
Cross-country trails
The area around Jetřichovice and Vysoká Lípa offers several groomed cross-country trails. The most popular is the loop from Jetřichovice past Vilemínina stěna and back — it measures about 12 km and runs mostly along forest tracks with a gentle climb. Other trails lead from Krásná Lípa towards Doubice or from Děčín up to Sněžník. When there is enough snow, you can also ski the ungroomed forest tracks around the cottage.
Sledging and winter fun
For children and adults alike, sledging is a great winter experience. Nearby you will find several hills suitable for sledges or bobsleds. The meadow above Lipnice offers a safe run for smaller children, and steeper slopes can be found near Jetřichovice. Do not forget snowmen and igloos — the local forests usually have plenty of snow from December to February.

Snow cover in Bohemian Switzerland depends on the particular winter — the most reliable conditions are in January and February at the higher elevations around Děčínský Sněžník.
